St. Mary of the Angels School BOOK CHARACTER DAY

On Friday 3rd June, St Mary Of The Angels Primary School in Notting ~Hill held their hilarious Book character Day on which the children come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book. I photographed the parade for charity and thanks to all the generous parents, we raised over £400 (with a few uncollected orders still outstanding). The teachers were also willing (or perhaps even eager) to join the festivities with the cast of Alice In Wonderland well-represented. Mr Soyka looked extremely fetching as Popeye  and Mrs Connolly  become Mrs Wishy -Washy for a day. These are my favourite photographs from the pageant, although I would like to point out that I judge each photograph purely on its merits as an image and not on the quality of the costume, the intellectual merit of the book or indeed, the radiant sweetness of the child.
